Scouts

I was a Girl Scout from 2nd grade through 8th, and I loved every minute of it!
Working on badges like campfire cooking, ice skating, and sewing taught me
things I’ve used my whole life. I went away to sleepaway camp a few times –
for a weekend when I was younger, for a week or two when I got older (Camp
Blue Bay in East Hampton, NY) – I remember crying when we had to get on
the bus and go home. We marched in the Memorial Day parade, made sit-upons,
and celebrated special times. In this picture we were doing a play based
on the history of our town – Glen Cove, NY. I remember most
of those girls with great fondness.

Layout inspired by scrapbook.steals.com's Mid Week Mojo sketch. All of the paper. embellishments,
and alphas are from Bo Bunny's Heritage and Somewhere in Time collections.

Happy Feet

I’ve always loved to dance! I took tap lessons as a kid – the picture above right is from a recital when I was 7. We were dancing to The Darktown Strutters’ Ball. I loved my gold and black outfit -  in those days the moms made the costumes. The other pictures are from a backyard show – we used  to put these on in the summer, sing and dance in one of our backyards, played music on a record  player, and charged our parents and neighbors 5¢ each – gave the money to charity.

This layout was inspired by this week's sketch at scrapbook.steals.com's Mid Week Mojo (see sketch below).

Track and Field

My oldest grandson (13) ran Cross Country in the fall, and then Track and Field this spring. He really likes to run, and we're hoping he continues when he goes to high school in the fall.

Backyard Wildlife

Bunnies and deer and bears - oh my!
Close-up of journaling
Close-up of a poor picture of the bear (taken through the window - lol! )

I've been making an album of my house, inside and out, for some time now.  This layout gives a sense of the wildlife that is actually very common here. The layout is based on scrapbook.steals.com's Mid Week Mojo sketch challenge.
