The Chiniak Fire

The tiny community of Chiniak, where I lived for 21 years, experienced a very serious fire in August. One family lost their home and the community library was also a total loss. The top photo was the view  from the town of Kodiak the first night of the fire; the second photo is what remained of the library. I kept the background very simple as the pictures are so dramatic and the subject so serious.

I Love This

My granddaughter started riding lessons last fall, following in her mother's footsteps. She rides several horses, but this pony, Cody, is her current favorite. Set on a kraft background, the horse pictures and riding words are from Stamping Stations' Live for Horse Riding. The red hearts are by SEI, the alphas are by Heidi Swapp, and the ink dots are from Memento.

Subway Seahawks

Two of my grandsons played football for the first time (and on the same team) last fall. The layouts are almost the same, as they wanted, and show them on the day they received their "team links," indicating that they were attentive, enthused, and contributing members of the team.

Let them be little… dinosaurs!

The Winter Series

I'm working on finishing an album that I'm making for my daughter and her family - it features a year in their lives, from when they arrived here in June of 2014 with the Coast Guard through spring of the following year. I've recently completed layouts that feature the winter months.

Here We Come A-Caroling

My granddaughter did a lot of singing last Christmas, in the K-2 music program and with the Girl Scouts out in the community. This layout was inspired by Bo Bunny's January Challenge. (See sketch below.) Almost all  of the materials are from Bo Bunny's Altitude and Sleigh Ride collections. (Sorry for the poor photo - poor lighting.)

And here is the companion page.

Purrfect Birthday

My granddaughter's 7th birthday party - she wanted a cat theme. Kids came dressed as cats, had a cat cake, played Pin the Tail on the Cat, and took donations for the Animal Shelter - a great time all the way around!

Full Moon on Christmas

For entry in Pinkfresh Studio's January Challenge

My son and I saw the full moon as we drove home from Christmas dinner and just had to stop to take some pictures. All of the paper in the layout is from Bo Bunny's Altitude and Sleigh Ride collections, including the pieces I cut out - the trees, stars, and the large circle that looked so much like the moon. The enamel arrows are from Freshpink Studio.
