Lazy Days of Summer

Lazy Days of Summer - August Calendar page

I'm making my own calendar this year, one month at a time - here's August! Only one month has a photo; I decided to just make them about things I like or find unique or beautiful for that month.  The layout was inspired by this week's Sketch Challenge from scrapbook steals Mid Week Mojo.

Paper: The Paper Studio Calendar Kit, Queen and Co. Summer Splash

Stickers: Queen and Co. Summer Splash, Fancy Pants Nautical

Happy Trails

This was an interesting layout for me, as I changed direction completely while I was working on it. At first I thought I would go with a woodsy look with greens, browns, and blues, and have "trails" leading from one photo to another. But as I got into it, I remembered that it was a beautiful sunny day and that the destination was the beach, so I switched over to bright sunny colors and incorporated the pink from their jackets. I made one big "trail" with washi tape and included lots of arrows, chevrons, and slants to give it that diagonal direction. I was really happy with it in the end!

Round and Round in the Rain

Round and Round in the Rain

We live in a place that’s very rainy, cool, and grey, but that

doesn’t stop kids (or adults for that matter) from enjoying

the outdoors! On this day in May, my son and his boys had fun at

Baronof  Park – playing on the playground and biking in the skatepark.

Yes I was a baby once...

I'm making albums about my life for my kids, so I make two of every layout. Usually they look almost exactly alike (depending on what supplies I have on hand) but this time I did the same layout with two completely different color schemes.

Left: Everything in this layout is from Bo Bunny (Heritage, Somewhere in Time, Enchanted Garden, and Madeleine).

Below: Paper is from My Mind's Eye and Carol Wilson, alphas from EK Success and Studio Calico, and embellishments from Bo Bunny.
