Piece of the Past

Jesse at Russian Culture Camp
The first non-Natives to settle in Kodiak were from Russia, so that's a very important part of our history and culture. My granddaughter (on the left) attended Russian Culture Camp last summer - on this night they performed balalaika music and traditional folk dances for us. The page was inspired by Bo Bunny's March Sketch Challenge. All of the paper and the photo border are from Bo Bunny's Somewhere in Time collection.

Prom

Glen Cove High School - June 1965

Just look at that hair, will ya? Check out the long white gloves, too. I can't believe it, but that prom was 50 years ago! I did love that dress - light blue dotted swiss. Don't you love how my date wore a blue suit to match? We had a great time, and we're still friends!

Can't identify the paper used, nor much of anything else. "Fabulous" is an Ali Edwards die from Technique Tuesday, and the pink corner borders on the photo are Spellbinders Botanical Swirls and Accents. The flower is from Scappin' Supplies. Wish I knew where I got the Prom alphas - love them and they're almost gone.

Here Comes the Sun

The sun peeks through the trees as it rises on a winter morning.

It's a Jungle Out There

I went with my granddaughter and daughter to see a local production of the musical Tarzan, and it was awesome! It was extra special because one of her swim instructors played Tarzan and her music/PE teacher played Jane.

Older paper - no information about it. The alphas are Memories Captured from Fancy Pants. I inked the photo mats with Hero Arts Grass, and Memento Dew Drop Cantaloupe, Tangelo, Rich Cocoa, and Teal Zeal.

November

The last two layouts in the Fall series for my daughter and her family. Just a few photos of their everyday activities - Daisy Scouts, a tea party, "exercising" (we'd call it playing), and just sitting cozily by the fire.

All of the paper and embellishments are from SEI's Autumn's Smile collection. I've splattered the paper with Tim Holtz Distress Spray Stain.

Happy Thanksgiving

Another two-page layout - this one featuring Thanksgiving, the first ever with both of my kids and all five grandchildren. The first page is based on this week's sketch from scrapbooksteals Mid Week Mojo, and the second from a Get It Scrapped sketch. They are part of my participation in Get It Scrapped's Calvinball activity - fun!

Most of the paper is old and of unknown origin. Alphas are from Authentique's Curiosity and Fancy Pants' Memories Captured. The little "A Time For" sticker is from Jillibean Soup, the clock stamp from Techniques Tuesday's Timeless, the leaf and "Family" sticker from SEI's Autumn's Smile, and I cut the "Happy Thanksgiving" title on my Cricut.

October

The next two in the Fall series for my daughter's family. There wasn't room for a note on each photo, so I numbered them and put notes on the journal card.
Most of the paper, the large leaves, and the burlap are from SEI's Autumn's Smile collection. The yellow glitter paper is from DCWV, the alphas from ek success, and the journal card from We R Memory Keepers.
