something you've turned into something more precious

I love taking old items, sometimes broken or battered, and creating something new.

I usually give these items away, but a few I have saved for myself. On the left is a

broken box whose purpose I couldn't figure out, and I turned it into a travel photo holder. 

On the right is a broken shadow box that I turned into a multi-dimensional scene.

My Wish for You

This layout was inspired by LOAD's Day 4 prompt -

What dream would you fulfill as a fairy godmother?

This will be the last page of my grandson't album, right after his graduation page.

I'll be writing a letter that I'll slip behind the page, but this layout sums up what I hope for him.

April

 My April two-page spread for the Scrapbook and Cards Today In the Pocket class. 

So far the monthly topics have been The Basics, Color, Story, and Embellishments.

I used green and yellow as my basic colors, with pops of pink/red, and I was very 

careful this time in choosing embellishments that added color, kept with the theme, filled in white space, or added clarification. I've been journaling much more than I used to as well.

The Magic of Music

This layout was inspired by LOAD519's Day 2 prompt - 

"Do You Believe in Magic?," a song from the 60's by The Lovin' Spoonful.

We were invited to tell our own story about our "magic in music."

I envisioned somehow fitting a lifetime of music on one layout,

but in the end I barely covered the 50s and 60s!

I'll definitely be returning to this topic!

Escape to Make Believe

My layout for Day 1 of ScrapHappy's LOAD519.

The theme for the month is Magic, and the prompt for May 1st was Escape

(as in Houdini) - your favorite escape.

I'm working on finishing my grandson's album before graduation,

so many of my layouts this month will be about him.

I decided to highlight his great pretending and imagination when he was little.

My favorite part of this layout is the Pull Me Surprise - the photo at the top and 

the journaling at the bottom are hidden until you pull on the bottom card.
