Fly tag

I was inspired to make this tag by the Right at Home Layers challenge.
My first layer is a variety of washi tape, which I topped with some mousse.
Then I layered several cards and die cuts together, first distressing
and inking the edges and then applying more mousse.
The balloon has a layer of Nuvo Drops Clear on it, and I topped it all off
with a pretty flower and leaves, a glittery die cut of a little girl hanging on
to the balloon, some alphas, and some ribbon at the top.

Fall-stival

I found this photo and frame hidden away in a box; my daughter sent it to me several years ago.
I decided to do a "blind challenge" from LilyPad, one where you just follow along with directions
one at a time, not really knowing how it will turn out in the end. It was fun!

Directions: (1) Select one solid background paper. (2)Add one patterned paper smaller than the
background paper. (3)Add one frame and photo. (4)Add a journal card. (5)Add one piece of
word art - no other journaling allowed. (6)Add six elements (no words). (7) Add the date.

Paper - Colorbok
Wood veneer - Studio Calico

Father-Daughter 50s Dance

My granddaughter's Girl Scout organization in Guam has a father-daughter dance each year.
This time it was a 50s dance. She was ready with her poodle skirt, scarf, and glasses
and John with his white t-shirt, black jacket, and jeans!
(Couldn't resist putting in the picture of her being sassy with her brother.)

Thinking of You

I was inspired to make this card by the Right at Home watercolor challenge,
which required me to try a new watercolor technique.
I chose to try one of Jennifer McGuire's techniques which involved
creating a watercolor background and layering a die cut on top.

Watercolors - Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers
Layering die cut - Altenew
Thinking of You die cut - Sizzix Tim Holtz
Sparkle - Glossy Accents and Perfect Pearls

Thank You

I was inspired to make this card by the Right at Home Spectrum challenge,
which was to create a project with a rainbow of color. I also tried a technique
shared by Jennifer McGuire, which was to white heat emboss a design
and then watercolor from the middle out. I watercolored on the background as well.

Watercolors - Zig Clean Color Real Brush watercolors
Mandala stamp - Close to My Heart
Embossing powder - WOW!
Thank You stamp - Technique Tuesday

Sunset from Mission Road

I was soooo inspired by a sunset layout on LadyoftheLake's blog, as I had just printed my own beautiful sunset photos. I decided to scrap lift some of her ideas - black paper and circles.
Now I'm soooo disappointed with my results - too many circles (clutter!) and a messy background.
I used some Distress Oxide inks, but they didn't really show up very well.  I'm keeping it though,
as it's just for me - most of my albums are given away.

Paper - Colorbok
Glitter paper - Cricut
Alphas - Pinkfresh and Fancy Pants
Stickers - Basic Grey
Stamp - Hero Arts
Embossing powder - Ranger and WOW!

Happy Birthday to You

I was inspired by the colors in the Pinkfresh March challenge,
but I didn't enter this card, as I didn't use Pinkfresh materials on it.
I did enter it in the Spring Florals Challenge at Right At Home.

Floral stamp - Simon Says Stamp
Birthday stamp - Lawn Fawn
Embossing Powder - WOW
Inks - Memento, Ranger, WPlus9, Copic markers
Nuvo Drops - Tonic Studio

Lovely

I was inspired to make this card by the March Challenge from Pinkfresh Studio.
The challenge is to use the colors shown below in a project.
I didn't have the exact colors in inks or papers, so I got as close as I could!

All the paper materials and the puffy sequins on the card are from the Pinkfresh Felicity collection.
The word stamps are from Pinkfresh's Wrap It Up kit.
I watercolored over some of the images with copic markers and inks from
Memento, Ranger, and WPlus9.

Easter Cards for the Little Grandkids

Cards for my littlest grandchildren, living in Guam.
The paper has cute little eggs printed on it, but I couldn't resist
covering them with these pretty puffy eggs that I found in Walmart.
Wish you could see the sparkly background paper and glittery words!

Oops! Just noticed I forgot to cover one of the eggs - will go back and do that!

This Alaskan Life

Bears are a way of life here in Kodiak, and we generally admire and respect them,
but when they charge at your grandson, that's something else again! On this day,
Kavin had to shoot a bear that charged him and his uncle. I really can't believe he
was able to maintain his composure enough to do it.

[I'm sure there are those of you who feel that it is wrong to kill an animal, and I respect that.
I felt the same way before I moved to Alaska. Hunting and fishing are a way of life here,
and everything is very well controlled, with lots of rules, seasons, and limits.
As for bears, there are controlled "trophy hunts," which many of us are opposed to,
and usually involve people from far away with lots of money to spend. Other than that,
you can only kill a bear "in defense of life or property" and then you must report it
and turn it over to the state. This is so people don't trophy hunt and then say it was self-defense.]

Basketball

This grandson plays sports all year - he tried basketball for the first time last fall.

That great background paper is from Fancy Pants.
Wish I knew who made that title - don't see it online anywhere.

My grandsons have raised goats for fun and meat.
Hard to see in the pictures, but they are adorable!

I haven't done many pocket pages, but I thought it would be a change to try one today.

Another Year of Wrestling

Middle grandson wrestling once again!
(Wrong year on there - changed to 2016)
I was inspired by a sketch I saw at Scrapbook and Cards Today.

Alphas - ek success and Glitz

Spouting Horn

Hawaii on a cloudy/rainy day - yes, it happens.
The spout of water shooting up was fun to see, like a geyser but in the sea!

I was inspired by two people: Jill_S for her 30-minute layout challenge in
the Calvinball March challenge, and Lain Hermann for her blog about
30-minute or less layouts. It actually took me a little more than 30 minutes,
as I couldn't find the embellishments I wanted!

The background paper (from Fancy Pants) is really a very deep blue, and the paper on top
a very mottled pale blue. Alphas are from Karen Foster, stickers from Reminisce,
and washi from Studio G.

Christmas 2017

My son and his boys moved into a new house just before Christmas, and there was
no time to get a Christmas tree. This house plant did the job nicely!
I have albums for each of my grandchildren, and this layout is going in the album
of the middle boy, pictured bottom right opening gifts.

All paper and embellishments are from the Candy Cane Lane collection by Teresa Collins.

This layout is the first of many I'll do in March for Calvinball, a fun scrapbooking
activity/challenge sponsored by Get It Scrapped.
